Designed landscape, surrounding Ardovie House (NO55NE0091). The house itself is central in the landscape. Directly to the west is a sundial (NO55NE0097). There is a farmstead and farmhouse to the southwest (NO55NE0033), and a walled garden to the south (NO55NE0098), which contained a fountain. There are cisterns marked on the 2nd edition OS map (1901) to the southwest of the house (NO 59095 56362), which are then shown as hydraulic rams by the revised 2nd edition OS map and which remain marked as such on present maps. On the 1st edition OS map, a pond with a small island is shown to the northeast of the house (NO 59417 56551), and remains shown as such on the 2nd edition OS map. It is now not shown as a pond, but a group of trees remain on the site of it. A new pond has since been installed to the northwest (NO 59211 56615), which is not shown on the OS 2nd edition map, so much have been installed since then. Since the 2nd edition OS map, the woodland to the northwest (NO 59110 56661) is recorded as 'North Wood', and the woodland to the southeast as 'Straw Hill Plantation'. There are various smaller outbuildings in the landscape. They are mostly situated around the walled garden, but there are also some around the main house.
