Period Notes

The castle was built in the 16th century, probably in 1553 or 1583, with alterations in 1621, the 18th century, and major alterations and additions in 1893. The lodge was built in the 19th century, and various buildings were added around the steading, also in the 19th century. There are also modern buildings around the house and steading.
