Two seals dating from the early thirteenth century were discovered amongst debris in the abbey ruins. The first seal of brass was found about 1820, and presented to Montrose Museum in 1841. It is inscribed with the words 'S. ROBERTI DE LAMBILE' (probably Robert de Lambley) with the figure of a monk, and is 28 mm x 18 mm in size. The second seal is in the NMS. It bears the full length figure of an abbot in pontifical vestments and carries the inscriptions 'S P (F?) W. MATHI MONAC, D. ABIRBROTHOC', is oval in shape and 29 mm x 22 mm in size. It was discovered in the late 19th century.
