Details Gaming board. A Merelles (an ancient game which is the ancestory for Nine Men's Morris) Board was discovered in the course of demolition of a Post- Reformation wall in the Abbey built of re-used masonry. The framework for the game was roughly outlined and probably dates from the thirteenth century. It is in the Museum of Arbroath Abbey.
