Details The farmstead of Millhill is depicted on the 1st edition OS map as an L-shaped steading with main axis orientated northwest / southeast with the extension at the south end towards the west. At the northern end of the main range is another building, lying parallel on the same axis, extending further north, with an attached enclosure on its eastern side joining it to the main farm. Another range lies circa 16 m to the east on a west northwest / east southeast orientation, and one on the west side. The house lies to the north. By the 2nd edition OS map the main steading and the building lying parallel have been joined to make the steading almost U-shaped with an open court to the west. The building to the east has gone as has the house, although there is another building north of the original site. The buildings on the west side have been extended. Today the farm has several additions and the buildings to the west have been reduced in size. A Level 1 Standing Building Survey was carried out by AOC in February 2009, prior to the redevelopment of the property. The range of seven farm buildings on the site probably date to the late 18th and early 19th century, and the layout has changed little over the years with the exception of the addition of one large barn and some minor extensions.
