Details Icehouse, no longer in use, within the grounds of the House of Dun and to the West of the mansion house (NO65NE0061). It is a small, stone-built icehouse, with exposed extrados, probably built in the 18th century, or earlier. There is a small arched opening towards the burn to the East, and another in the extrados. On the 1st edition OS map, it is shown as being within a clear area, and marked as 'icehouse'. On the 2nd edition OS map, trees are shown around it, as they are now, and it is marked as 'old icehouse'. This suggests that it probably fell out of use in the intervening years.
