Remains of a folly, probably built by John Paterson in circa 1800. It is an octagonal-plan Gothic folly with pointed arch-openings and quatrefoil detail, and is constructed from rubble with patchy render and ashlar dressings. It was possibly formerly taller, and is now roofless. Inside there is a fireplace with a large red sandstone lintel and a small cupboard recess in the north-west wall. Desk based assessment and buildings appraisal was carried out by AOC Archaeology in 2010, and subsequent standing building survey undertaken in November 2016.
