Details Site of infectious diseases hospital. A modern iron foundry has since been built on the site (NO75NW0059). On the 1st edition OS map (1861), the site is shown as being part of the public baths (NO75NW0387), and the map also shows an ice house. By the 2nd edition OS map (1901/2) the baths and ice house are no longer there, and the hospital is in its place. The hospital is within the footprint of part of the buildings at the North-West of the baths complex, and it is possible that the hospital re-used the existing building, although a new building may have been built on the footprint. It is situated on the shore to the West of the harbour and to the South of the Royal Infirmary. It is a rectangular building oriented North-West/South-East, with a small extension to the North-West end of the building that is not seen on the baths buildings.
