Site of a sawmill and a planing mill depicted on historic OS maps. The 1st edition OS map a timber yard containing several buildings and a possible cistern. A railway line runs through the western part of the site. The 2nd edition OS map, on which it is named ‘Victoria Planing Mills’, shows a much larger building occupying much of the site, a now realigned railway line running to the north side of this building from Montrose Harbour Station (NO75NW0043) to the north. The buildings along the northern edge of the site also appear to have been altered or replaced and the cistern is no longer shown. To the east a new large building occupies part of an extended timber yard. The site is now occupied by industrial buildings.
