Mausoleum and obelisk built in 1838 or shortly after, and site of summerhouse and cairn, set to the west of Park House (NO79NE0049). Three stone cists, containing urns and human ashes, were discovered when the ground was being levelled to build a summer house. These finds were re-buried at the same spot, on which the summer house was later replaced by a square granite obilisk and a mausoleum. The mausoleum has a subterranean octagonal vault with a central octagonal pillar and arched recesses. A red granite obelisk on a 4 step platform stands above. An inscription reads JAMES KINLOCH ESQ, JERMYN STREET ST JAMES LONDON FORMERLY OF BOMBAY IN THE EAST INDIES WHO DIED ON THE 29th DAY OF AUGUST 1838 IN THE 63rd YEAR OF HIS AGE.
