Details Modern house built on the site of a house or steading. A single rectangular building with an enclosure to its west is depicted at this location on the 1st edition OS map. By the 2nd edition OS map, the building is U-plan open to the north east, with another small building to the north and a well to the east. These were replaced in 1986 by a new house incorporating recycled material from older buildings. The entrance is 17th Century in style, and features stone from the burnt wing of Crathes Castle (NO79NW0005) and from Craiglarach in Aboyne. The west front is 18th Century in style, with sash and case windows and gable from Culter papermills (Aberdeen City HER NJ80SW0393). The interior features beams from Culter papermill.
