Pill-box, which forms part of the Cowie Line, a World War II defensive structure. Consists of a Type-22 pill-box, anti-tank blocks and other wartime structures, covering the southern end of a viaduct and a bridge over the gorge of the Cowie Water. Three anti-tank cubes survive at the southern end of the low bridge, but are not in their original position. At the southern end of the viaduct two massive concrete blocks, bearing three differing grooves on one side, survive. These are the remains of a standard roadblock. The blocks would have flanked the road and the grooves would have held three metal beams across the road. The pill-box is a standard Type 22, with the door to the south and single gun-loops on all faces.
