Site of a house and estate, depicted on historic OS maps. The 1st edition shows the house with gardens to the west, one with a sundial. To the southeast of the house is a group of at least three rectangular buildings (NJ90NW0940). The sundial does not appear on the 2nd edition map which shows a pumping windmill to the west of the house. Also previously named There are lodges at the entrances to the estate on the east and south. Hiltoun and Caprastoun. The house, built in 1789 by Dr Gordon, was harled, one and a half storeys, with a shaped gablet. It was greatly extended in the 19th century, and demolished in 1925. See NJ90NW2495 for lodge.
