Built of roughly finished Loanhead granite ashlar with a steeply pitched grey slate roof, ashlar stack on one gable, a brick stack on the other, straight skews and cast-iron rainwater goods. Windows are sash and case with 4-pane glazing. The pend would have provided access to the stairs to upper levels at the rear and side of the building.
