Details Lodges at the entrance to the churchyard of St Machar's Cathedral. They were designed by John Smith 1832, encasing previous structures of similar plan. The pair of lodges are 2-storey, built of ashlar in gothic style with semi-octagonal fronts and arched windows. The gatepiers are probably of 18th century date, perhaps with alterations to the detail in 1832, and with a wrought iron lamp-holder and cast-iron gates.
