Details Railway viaduct built circa 1854 of rough-faced coursed granite. The viaduct runs from Ferryhill to Guild Street Station (NJ90NW0077). There are two painted metal bridges under the viaduct at Palmerston Place and Riverside Drive with channelled rustication to the piers, tiled inside returns with round arched doorways under the bridge. the bridges have latticed parapets on pierced ironwork brackets, flanked by advanced finely finished terminating blocks with dentil mouldings. There are 14 round-arched openings with painted brick arch-rings to the centre between the bridges. Blank walls sweep round to northeast and southeast of the viaduct. The railway originally terminated at Ferryhill (NJ90NW0595) and the Arches represent the beginning of the extension of the railway north towards the centre of Aberdeen.
