Burials found in 1908 during alterations to a house in Carmelite Street. A total of 5 or 6 skeletons were found. Probably part of the burial ground of the Carmelite Friary (NJ90NW0006). Monitoring of a trench for replacement of a Victorian sewer pipe in 1996 along the length of Carmelite Street recorded the probable east end wall of the church. Other walls, possibly part of the south and east ranges, were seen in section. Before a sewer pipe was laid to the east of the church, 24 skeletons were excavated in what would have been the graveyard. Finds included roof and floor tiles and window glass. Reburial of several skeletons had taken place in the foundation trench of a 19th century cellar wall.
