Details Site of the World War I aircraft factory of Henderson Scottish Aviation. Henderson Scottish Aviation, also known as Greig and Henderson, built aircraft at a factory in Forbesfield Road. During World War I the company is reported to have produced 250 Avro 504 aircraft. There was no established landing ground in the area from which the aircraft could have been flown out and they were probably delivered by rail. The building had originally been an ice skating rink (Glacerium) and after the war was used as a training workshop. A large industrial building is shown on the west side of the road at its northern end on the OS map surveyed 1923.
