House depicted on the OS 2nd edition map, the outer pavilion of a terrace designed by J Russell Mackenzie circa 1880. It is an asymmetrical 2-bay pavilion. The ground floor has regular fenestration, a doorway reached by stone steps flanked by railings. There is also regular fenestration to the first floor and attic, with a Venetian style pilastered tripartite dormer window to the attic. Formerly used as a Civil Defence sub control centre/headquarters during World War II, remaining operational until 1968. One room retains the standby Lister generator and (not in place) one of the original gas tight wooden doors into the bunker.
