Details A pile of granite blocks and a pile of rubble on the east side of the track. It contains the remains of the parapets of Persley Bridge removed when the road was widened in the 1980s. Some of the stones were used for garden walls to the north and south of Grandholme House. The bridge was originally constructed in the 1890s. The pile of rubble to the northeast at NJ 9010 1244 includes lengths of curved brickwork. A circular feature is shown here on the 1st edition OS map may be the source of this rubble, although information from the estate owner notes that the rubble which almost certainly derives from the base of a silo which was removed from the Mains of Grandholme farmsteading.
