Period Notes

Period Notes It is first associated with Malcolm III and Queen Margaret (1057-93). It was captured in 1291 and burned and destroyed in 1306. It was restored in 1308, but destroyed again in 1313 and never rebuilt. The market cross was brought to the site in 1799, and an external stair was added in 1844. The market cross was listed on 11/06/1971.
