Details Remains of a post-medieval farmstead or small fermtoun, and part of an associated field system (see also NJ41SE0131). The remains of the farmstead, on a terrace above the burn, comprise the turf-covered footings of a linear group of seven buildings. These vary from 5.8m to 25m in length, and 3.2m to 4.5m in width, the walls standing up to 0.5m high. Some have outshots and internal divisions. They are not shown on the historic OS maps. They lie at the foot of a possibly contemporary field system comprising a series of parallel linear ridges running downslope which probably represent lynchets or the edges of strip fields. A curving bank forms the boundary to these relic cultivation strips.
