Details House and remains of castle. The house of Castleknowe is on the site of Lynturk Castle. A broad, deep ditch surrounded the castle: the eastern arc of the ditch has disappeared and the north arc is discernible as a faint hollow. Elsewhere it is preserved by the erection of a garden wall. Little remains of the castle but behind the farmhouse is a fragment of masonry showing a plastered wall recess. Built into the steading is a 16th century gunloop with circular orifice. The present house is 2-storey, harled with piend roofed single storey back wing. Also site of a manor of the barony of Lynturk.
