Details Site of the Battle of Tillyangus fought on 10th October 1571 during the civil war between the adherents of Queen Mary and her son James VI. The Gordons were victorious. According to one source the battle took place on the White Hill of Tillyangus. Os in 1967 recorded that the tradition of a battle still known.
