Details Following a desk-based assessment, a walkover survey was carried out by Cameron Archaeology between April 30th and May 5th 2016, along the entire length of a cable trench ahead of proposed underground electricity cabling for SSE. The cable route was from north of Kirkton Farm, Kirkton of Culsalmond, Colpy (NJ 64961 33749) to Blackhall Road, adjacent to Westburn Gardens, Inverurie (NJ 75620 21721). A corridor either side of the route was examined and photographically recorded. No new archaeological or historic sites were recorded, however flints were recovered including a possible core (NJ72SW0212) adjacent to the road north of Fairlea. Watching briefs were carried out in eight areas along the route: Kirkton of Culsalmond (NJ63SE0103, NJ63SE0104), Logie Durno (NJ72NW0168, NJ72NW0169), East Blairbowie (NJ72SW0210), Middleton (NJ72SW0211) and Glenniston (NJ63SE0105 and NJ63SE0106).
