Details Site of a settlement. An extensive scatter of hut circles accompanied by small mounds of earth and stone, some of which have yielded cinerary urns, covered this area. The interiors of the huts were scooped with entrances in the east. One was excavated in 1871 revealing a central post-hole 0.76m deep by 0.30m in diameter, which still contained remains of post. A hearth was also found. The only artefacts recovered were a perforated stone, 10cm in diameter, and several circular slaty stones, dressed and polished. The tumuli or cairns were composed of local slaty stone and pebbles, and the two excavated appeared to be laid in courses around urns. Each mound appeared to contain several cinerary urns, each standing on a rough slaty stone. A great many flint arrowheads have been found in area plus two axes. Now no trace and the area has been ploughed over.
