Details Former smithy, built in the early 19th century. Historic OS maps depict a pond and mill lade to the north of the smithy building, with the lade continuing through the site. Current OS maps show the pond has been infilled but a waterway is still depicted. It is a single-storey, piend-roofed building of squared, coursed and pinned (cherry-cocked) rubble with ashlar lintels. There are five broad openings supported by ashlar pillars, an ashlar coped stack to the west and grey slates to the piended roof. Inside there is a forge below the stack to the west. It is part of a group of buildings consisting a steading (NJ65SW0065), walled garden (NJ65SW0064) and farmhouse (NJ65SW0066), mill (NJ65SW0154).
