Details Site of a castle. The remains of the castle of Wedderburn, formerly East Powrie, were extant in 1794, and belonged to the Wedderburns. It was demolished before 1885, when most of the stones were removed and the remainder used to build a dovecot on the site. Four sculptured stones from the castle are built into the farm buildings of Barns of Wedderburn . No trace of the castle remains, but the circular dovecot still stands 4.6m high though now roofless. There appears to be a very faint crop mark to the south-east centred on NO4362 3522 which may indicate the possible site of the castle.
