Details Farmstead, still in use, dated 1791. It is shown on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps as a U-plan steading, open to the south, and is named 'The Hill'. There is an enclosure within the court, a building within the court in the north-west corner and a building on the outside of the east range. There is also a small outbuilding within and enclosure to the west and an L-plan enclosure to the north and east. Current maps show the court has been partially filled and the outbuilding and enclosure to the west has been removed. The steading building is built of rubble and has later asbestos roofs. There are segmental arches to the sheds, with dated keystones. Within the designed landscape (NO54NE0115) of Middleton House (NO54NE0107).
