Former mill complex and mill house, now in residential use. It is depicted on the 1st edition OS map (1861) as having both a flour mill and a threshing mill. The main block, the flour mill, is orientated roughly North/South, overstriding the mill lade which runs from the West, where it also serves Balbirnie Mill (NO65NW0067). There is a mill pond shown to the South. On the South side of the mill lade, to the West of the flour mill, is a T-plan building and further West are two long rectangular buildings, possibly rows of cottages. To the East of the Northern end of the flour mill are two further buildings. To the North-East of the flour mill is a U-plan steading with a court open to the South-West, and a range of buildings to the Southwest. To the North-West of the steading is a threshing mill fed by a secondary mill lade branching off from the main mill lade. East of the flour mill is a house set within laid-out gardens. On the 2nd edition OS map (1901), the northern part of the flour mill has been removed, and the mill is now annotated as a sawdust mill. South of the lade the T-plan building and the Westernmost of the long buildings remain. Only part of the original mill survives, and part of the buildings to its East. All the mill lades are still evident. The threshing mill in the north is still standing. There have been additions to the steading including infilling of the former court. The house remains as shown on the 1st edition OS map. The threshing mill has since been removed, and the lade which ran to it has been infilled. The main mill lade remains, although the pond to the south is no longer shown. Most of the steading has been removed leaving a single rectangular building (NO65NW0050). The former flour mill is three-storey and rubble built, with a kiln and moulded skewputts. It has a datestone of 1786 at a lintel. The mill workings were removed and there were considerable alterations in 1963. The farmhouse was built in the early 19th century, and was enlarged in circa 1850. It is now an irregular T-plan building, with a central block projecting to the North. The Western bay on the South-facing elevation is projecting and gabled, with a spike finial. The building retains its original sash windows except at the West gable, which now has a four-pane divide.
