Details House, still in residential use, probably built in the mid 18th century incorporating earlier fabric, with later remodelling and a stable range continuous at the north gable added in 1840, converted to residential use in 1989. The house presents difficulties of dating and interpretation, with various periods represented in its fabric. It may have originally been part of an earlier mansion, or indeed the principal house of the estate prior to the construction of the circa 1770 mansion (NJ56SE0015). During the late 18th to early 19th century it appears to have been used as servants' quarters. The house is two-storey with five symmetrical bays, and the former stable range is single-storey and loft with six bays. The house has modern harl with chamfered ashlar margins. The former stables are rubble-built with tooled ashlar dressings. The house has a shallow piended slate roof, and the former stables a gabled slate roof with projecting eaves. A high walled passage links the rear of the house to the rear service quarters of the mansion to the southeast (NJ56SE0015). One wall of the passage is also a portion of the walled garden wall (NJ56SE0125). A passage linking through a doorway from the first floor of the house to the loft of the former stables was revealed during restoration work.
