House, still in use, built in the later 18th century. It is a two-storey, wide four-bay house with a two-storey rear wing forming an L-plan. The building is harled with painted ashlar margins. The frontage has four-pane timber sash and case glazing, varied at the rear. A doorway at the back leads to the rear court, which is shared with no 8-10 Castle Street (NJ66SE0368). The slate roof has moulded copes to end stacks, and flat skews with moulded run-off skewputts.
