Remains of stone clearance heaps comprising an area of small cairns, the majority established around pre-existing boulders or rock outcrops, recorded during a walkover survey by Mercer and Ralston in 1989 prior to a proposed extension of Bellmuir Quarry (NJ83NE0181). They vary in size from circa 1.7 m in diameter and 0.3 m high to circa 7.5 m - 8 m diameter, and 0.5 m high, most towards the larger range. A desk based assessment carried out by Rathmell Archaeology in 2016 ahead of proposed development of Bellmuir Quarry and subsequent field observation noted the site (S42) as present but did not record any further details, with the site located outwith the proposed development area.
