Details World War II anti-invasion defences along Pettens Links, part of a line which includes NJ91NE0054. and which originally extended from Foveran Links to Blackdog Links. A pill box and anti-tank blocks was exposed on the beach at the mouth of the Blairton Burn, following winter storms. Six anti-tank blocks studded with stones were visible in February 2014. A pillbox had also been uncovered at the edge of the dunes although it was not clear whether this is the same as NJ91NE0054. Site visit in 2022 as part of the SCAPE Coastal Zone Assessment Survey noted that a pillbox is located at the mouth of the Blairton Burn. Along the edge of the burn, rock armour has been placed to protect the dunes. A concrete anti tank block was surveyed in October 2022, recently revealed due to movement in river creating a deep gully. It had been buried approximately 1.5 m below the current sand level.
