Site of a Drill Hall, built 1879, built using funds raised by public subscription and by the riflemen of the 9th Aberdeenshire Rifle Volunteers. A tablet on the front of the building bore the inscription 'Built by the 9th A.R.V. Corps Peteehead F,. Robertson Camp Commandant 1879'. In 1914-18 the hall was the drill station for 'F' Squadron, 2nd Scottish Horse and was the HQ of the 5th Gordon Highlanders, and drill station for 'B' and 'C' Companies of the battalion. It was demolished in the 1970s, the site now occupied by a road junction, although the garden survives and is the site of the town's war memorial (NK14NW0088)
