Stone boundary wall, shown on the historical and current edition OS maps. A walkover survey carried out by West Coast Archaeological Services in October 2020, covering an area of a proposed woodland planting and regeneration scheme (NJ25SW0049), recorded a linear drystone estate wall which ran down the spine of Stony Hill and defined the northeast boundary of the Moss of Rothes, from NJ 24592 51840 to NJ 25329 51065 (Site 3). A post and wire fence ran down the southwest side of the wall and extended from the northwest end of the wall up to the summit of Brylach Hill. The wall measured 0.8m wide at the base and 0.4m - 0.5m wide at the top and capped with vertical coping stones. It varied in height between 0.7m - 1.4m, although the wall had been reduced by collapse in some locations. The wall continued out of the walkover survey area to the south-southeast.
