Cairnfield, consisting of the remains of over 70 moss covered, rubble constructed cairns and stone spreads recorded during a walkover survey by Highland Archaeology Services in November 2021 (NJ25SE0065). The cairns ranged is size from 5 m to 1 m in diameter and spread close together over a large area on the lower slopes of Stony Hill. The cairnfield appeared to end directly at the boundary of the Moss of Stonyhill, where the ground went from field to peat bog. The cairns appear to be spaced sporadically across the area, with no sign of agricultural management in between. The area of prehistoric hut circles and cairns (NJ25SW0004) directly to the west of this cairnfield, may indicate that these cairns are possibly prehistoric in date.
