Bones were found in an enclosed yard behind Number 8, The Square, Monymusk (NJ61NE0106). Due to the close proximity of Monymusk Church, and with the possibility that the bones were human, an evaluation was initiated. Excavation revealed a small collection of bones against the kerb of a pitched stone footing. Finds of brick and slate indicated a 19th/early 20th century date. The bones recovered were found to be of sheep, rabbit and fish and were mixed with modern china and glass.
