A watching brief was undertaken by Cameron Archaeology in 2016, during a topsoil strip of Trench 3, a section of a cable corridor through the northeastern and eastern side of Logie Durno Roman Camp (NJ72NW0050), following on from a walkover survey ahead of cable laying for SSE (NJ62NE0181). The trench was 4m wide, the topsoil was shallow and the subsoil was clay with earthfast boulders, which had to be drilled through to lay the electricity cable. No archaeological finds or features were recorded. The trench was north of the watching brief for Trench 4 (NJ72NW0169).
