Details Remains of hut circle, recorded during a walkover survey by Mercer and Ralston in 1989 prior to a proposed extension of Bellmuir Quarry (NJ83NE0181). The surviving traces consist of the spread remains of a stony bank surviving to approx. 0.2 m - 0.3 m in height and enclosing an area of some 5.8 m internal diameter. The overall diameter of this site is approximately 9.2 m. There is a possibly original entrance gap in the east side. A desk based assessment carried out by Rathmell Archaeology in 2016 ahead of proposed development of Bellmuir Quarry and subsequent field observation noted the site (S36) as present but did not record any further details, with the site located outwith the proposed development area.
