Remains of hut circle, recorded during a walkover survey by Mercer and Ralston in 1989 prior to a proposed extension of Bellmuir Quarry (NJ83NE0181). A prominent feature, the remains occupy a prepared platform on a small knoll within an enclosure (NJ83NE0058). The pennanular stone footings, interrupted by a gap in the northeast side, are circa 0.8 m high on the north side and circa 1 m high on the south side. The enclosed area is circa 7 - 8 m diameter, the external diameter, allowing for the spread of the bank is approximately 14.9 m. A desk based assessment carried out by Rathmell Archaeology in 2016 ahead of proposed development of Bellmuir Quarry and subsequent field observation noted the site (S33) as present but did not record any further details, with the site located outwith the proposed development area.
