Remains of a longhouse, recorded during a walkover survey by Mercer and Ralston in 1989 prior to a proposed extension of Bellmuir Quarry (NJ83NE0181). It is a rectangular structure with slight indications of internal sub-division, and measures 11.2 m by 3.6 m internally and 14.4 m by 6.54 m overall. The entrance position is uncertain but appears most likely to have been on the south side. Its northwest corner appears to overlie a length of slightly-hollowed track, occupying part of a former rig-and-furrow system. A desk based assessment carried out by Rathmell Archaeology in 2016 ahead of proposed development of Bellmuir Quarry and subsequent field observation noted the site (S38) as present but did not record any further details, with the site located outwith the proposed development area.
