Details Remains of an area of rig and furrow, moderately well preserved, recorded during a walkover survey by Mercer and Ralston in 1989 prior to a proposed extension of Bellmuir Quarry (NJ83NE0181). The rigs trend approximately northwest to southeast with a wave amplitude of circa 3 m to 4 m. At the southeast margin of this system the rigs obliquely transverse the break of slope east of an enclosure (NJ83NE0058). Here they have been enhanced by the apparently subsequent adoption of the furrows as informal tracks. A desk based assessment carried out by Rathmell Archaeology in 2016 ahead of proposed development of Bellmuir Quarry and subsequent field observation noted the site (S4) as present but did not record any further details, with the site located outwith the proposed development area.
