Remains of banks, recorded during a walkover survey by Mercer and Ralston in 1989 prior to a proposed extension of Bellmuir Quarry (NJ83NE0181). They comprise a series of short lengths, usually circa 2 m of bank, frequently edged by narrow ditching on one side. The transverse profile of these small scale features is usually fairly sharp and as they overlie rig and furrow it suggests that they are of fairly recent date. They may be damage from wind-blown trees. A desk based assessment carried out by Rathmell Archaeology in 2016 ahead of proposed development of Bellmuir Quarry and subsequent field observation noted the site (S18) as present but did not record any further details, with the site located outwith the proposed development area.
