Remains of a track, defined by a shallow ditch and intermittently by a low stony bank on either side, recorded during a walkover survey by Mercer and Ralston in 1989 prior to a proposed extension of Bellmuir Quarry (NJ83NE0181). The feature has an overall width of circa 6 m. The track does not appear on the historic OS maps. A trench excavated by CFA in 1997 through a portion of the track, which has since been removed by the access road, confirmed the track was not of antiquity. The track appears to have constructed during the latter half of the 20th century. A walkover survey carried out by Rathmell Archaeology in 2016 ahead of proposed development of Bellmuir Quarry identified the site (S22.1) with the western and eastern ends remaining, but the majority of the middle portion of the east-west trackway having been covered by the current quarry access road.
