Remains of a possible longhouse, comprising a roughly rectangular structure with long axis running east-northeast to west-southwest, edged with moderate-sized stones, recorded during a walkover survey by Mercer and Ralston in 1989 prior to a proposed extension of Bellmuir Quarry (NJ83NE0181). A walkover survey carried out by Rathmell Archaeology in 2016 ahead of proposed development of Bellmuir Quarry identified the site (S19) with the walls measuring approximately 0.8 m wide, up to 0.6 m high, and mainly turfed over with stones visible. A bank was recorded from the northeast corner running to the northeast for a length of 5.2 m. A narrow gully ran into the east-northeast end from the south-southeast measuring approximately 1.4 m wide by 0.6 m deep. Part of the structure is under bracken growth.
