Details Remains of an area of rig and furrow marked by broad straight rigs, recorded during a walkover survey by Mercer and Ralston in 1989 prior to a proposed extension of Bellmuir Quarry (NJ83NE0181). Overall length of the rigs is circa 95 m maximum. Their relief amplitude is greatest for circa 20 m towards the west where they appear to be enhanced to facilitate drainage. The wave amplitude of the rig system is of the order of 4.5 m - 5 m, on occasion reaching circa 6m. A desk based assessment carried out by Rathmell Archaeology in 2016 ahead of proposed development of Bellmuir Quarry and subsequent field observation noted the site (S45) as present but did not record any further details, with the site located outwith the proposed development area.
