Remains of an enclosure and rigs, identified during a walkover survey by Mercer and Ralston in 1989 prior to a proposed extension of Bellmuir Quarry (NJ83NE0181). Traces of a low field bank primarily of stone and spread to circa 1 m in width is bisected by modern track but can be traced for circa 23 m before it turns through a little more than right-angle. It forms a roughly rectangular shape and contains an area of rig and furrow. Four sections were cut across the enclosure bank during evaluation by CFA in 1997 ahead of proposed quarrying. It recorded a clearance cairn later incorporated as part the enclosure. A desk based assessment carried out by Rathmell Archaeology in 2016 ahead of proposed development of Bellmuir Quarry and subsequent field observation noted the site (S1) as partially present with loss due to quarry operations, but did not record any further details, with the site located outwith the proposed development area.
