Victoria Park, depicted on the OS 2nd edition map, and including a fountain, pavilion, and a lodge in the centre of the east side. The park was taken over by the Council in 1871 at which time it was known as Glennie Park. The Garden for the Blind was opened in 1967. There is an octagonal granite ashlar fountain in the centre (NJ90NW2212). The lodge (NJ90NW2049) at the east (Watson Street) entrance to the park is of later 19th century date, and is a single-storey, 3-bay cottage. To commemorate the park’s centenary in 1971, 36 Councillors each planted a tree in the park following which a granite stone was erected to mark the occasion.
