Former boundary stone variously known as Crabstane, Crab Stone, Craib Stone, Crab's Stone, Crabe Stone, Craibstone. It is a granite boulder, measuring 0.63m in breadth and 0.7m in height, which has been set into a modern wall (in front of 65 Langstane Place) about 1m above the level of the pavement; there is a commemorative plaque on the wall above the stone. It was a boundary stone of the lands of John de Crabbe, who was burgess of Aberdeen in 1343. It was the site of a skirmish between the Forbeses and the Gordons on November 20th 1571, the Gordons being the victors; and the approximate site of an engagement on September 13th 1644 in which Montrose routed the Covenanters at the Battle of Justice Mills (NJ90NW1324).
